The Reskate fresco, the first work on the Monumental Valois itinerary, is part of the development of the entrance to the Voie verte at Mareuil-sur-Ourcq, spectacularly covering an old electrical transformer. A true visual landmark, this monumental fresco runs continuously across all four sides of the 12-metre-high tower, offering an immersive 360° experience.
Fresco Reskate
A tribute to the history and essence of the Pays de Valois
Inspired by the history and essence of the Pays de Valois, the work explores several essential themes: silence, nature, culture, movement and tradition, with a particular focus on three major orientations: archery, nature and architecture.

Fresco Reskate
A work with two faces
Articulated on all four sides of the tower by an endless continuity, this two-faced “Janus” has the particularity of having a daytime and a night-time version.
By day, it reveals a palette of subtle colors, featuring two figures, their heads lost in the same cloud, interacting by holding an arrow in different attitudes. This symbol echoes the tradition of archery, which spans generations, and is also a discreet signpost indicating where the “way” lies.

On the lower part of the tower, arches evoke the vaulted cellars of the Pays de Valois architectural heritage. They reflect the artists’ amazement at the quality of Valois architecture, present even in the cellars of the oldest houses, some of whose arches they have reproduced.
At night, the work is transformed by lighting effects, revealing hidden elements. The feathers of the arrows become a bouquet of lush nature, while the faces of the characters are transformed into children’s faces, underlining the importance of future generations and the transmission of values through time.
Thanks to the use of photoluminescent paints and UV lights, this fresco takes on a new dimension as night falls, offering a different, poetic vision that invites spectators to rediscover the work from another angle.

Fresco Reskate
A work rooted in the identity of the Pays de Valois
With this spectacular fresco, the Reskate Studio collective has created a work deeply rooted in the identity of the Pays de Valois, where art, nature and heritage interact in harmony. It’s a celebration of local culture and an invitation to contemplate, day and night.
